Summary
I know what you did.... and that was listening to this episode! Chad is joined by writer James Hamilton (Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld, Murder for Dummies) to dive into the psychological horror/black comedy/ mystery Psychoville. Created by Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton for the BBC, Psychoville follows five blackmailed sociopaths unraveling the secrets that connect them. Trust us; it's actually very funny!
Chad and James talk about the entire first series and how it influenced James' writing and sensibilities, especially his latest ventriloquist mockumentary Murder for Dummies. We also mourn the loss of physical media like the millennials we are.

| 0:00.0 | Hello, Stickheads. It's another episode. Very excited to talk about a show I had not known about until our guest, James Hamilton, brought him up. It's called Psychoville. A really dark comedy from the BBC. I've liked a lot of the stuff like Garth Marringy's Dark Place and Mighty Boosh. We talk about some of those. This is in that wheelhouse. It's in that kind of field, but I think way darker. |
| 0:24.2 | I was really surprised by it, especially because James has that side of his humor, |
| 0:28.4 | but he's also like a real fun, jovial dude. |
| 0:31.8 | So kind of like Psychoville. |
| 0:33.4 | I think James is a complex guy. |
| 0:36.4 | He's one of my favorite writers out here in L.A. |
| 0:38.3 | He's worked on so many cool projects. |
| 0:40.4 | I love getting coffee or breakfast with him and just kind of talking about story and sharing industry woes. |
| 0:46.6 | We touch on that a little bit in the beginning of this episode. |
| 0:49.9 | Hopefully not so much that we get in trouble with any of our bosses. |
| 0:53.2 | But I think it's a hopefully cathartic conversation. |
| 0:56.7 | We'd love to know how much you guys want to hear more inside baseball stuff like that, or should we be focusing more on just storytelling and the media we love? |
| 1:03.8 | You can let us know stories that stick pod at gmail.com, but especially on our Patreon where all of our supporters get to vote on the |
| 1:13.3 | direction we're going on our bonus episodes. |
| 1:15.3 | You get access to bonus episodes like I just mentioned, ad-free episodes early. |
| 1:20.6 | It's a great place, including our Discord, where it would be the best place to give us feedback |
| 1:24.7 | on what do you want to hear more on the show. |
| 1:26.8 | Rambling Way, and that I love James. I love having him on. He's lovely. And I hope you enjoy this |
| 1:32.9 | episode. Also go check out Psychoville. It's not illegal to type into Google ways to watch |
| 1:38.8 | Psychoville on a VPN. You'll figure it out. It's a really cool watch, especially if you love the actors. |
| 1:45.3 | By the way, we mentioned a little bit. I knew some of these casts from Taskmaster, a show I |
| 1:49.8 | absolutely adore. Maybe you're sick of having friends recommend Taskmaster. That's all on YouTube. |
