I haven't seen you in 15 minutes. This is part two of covering a book that I wanted to cover,

and so as having a guest on. I wanted to be selfish. Actually, though, this was your idea, Jacqueline,

to talk about something that I liked. And so I picked a book that we had both read,

Runaways, Volume 1, Brian K. Vaughan, and Adrian Alphona, with covers by the fantastic Joe Chen that'll draw you.

And this is a Marvel's original series to bring in kid younger audiences with some pretty dark storylines.

Again, this is part two.

You can go back and listen to the first episode where we, I don't know, we're insane to think that we could cover all 18 issues in one episode.

There is a lot of plot. There's a lot of plot.

There's a lot of plot. But you know what? It's good plot. It's character motivated.

It is. And when it is in the, you know, put in the perspective of 18 issues of comic books,

you got to, you got to like have a thing happen 18 times.

18 times.

You got to make sure that page turn happens.

I think that's a really unappreciated skill of not just writing a good story, but knowing

what your odd page is, that last panel that will get you, I guess, to not just throw the comic immediately in the garbage.

Yeah.
