Catching up with the amazing Katie Johnson who happens to be one of my old homies, and also a Licensed Independent Social Worker. Katie graduated with a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Iowa; earned a Bachelor's in Psychology, with a minor in Family Studies from the University of Northern Iowa.
Her specialty clinical interests include working with adolescents and adults facing depression, anxiety, reduced or distorted self-perceptions, various forms of adjustment, grief and loss, relationship issues and identity development. A passion of her practice is offering sports-related therapy with student-athletes.
In addition to that she is a former college athlete and avid lover of 90's / early 2000's hip hip and R&B like myself. We dig deep into anxiety, stress, body image, perfectionism and share some nostalgic stories from our past along the way.
