Summary

None of us signed up to raise a child with anxiety or OCD. It wasn’t what we dreamed of when we poured over all the pregnancy and parenting books. And yet, here we all are, trying to not only survive, but thrive with our kids and their struggles.

What happens when compassion runs dry? What happens when we feel resentful or angry at our kids or the situation?

You are not alone if you’ve experienced those feelings. In fact, to be real, most of us have at one point or another.

In this episode of the AT Parenting Survival Podcast I talk about what parental compassion fatigue is, what the symptoms are and how we can navigate through it.

0:40.6

And that is compassion fatigue.

0:43.2

I really am not a fan of little like catch-all phrases or just quasi-disorders or labels because

I just feel like we live in a society where it's like a bunch of acronyms and disorders

0:56.6

and labels.
