Summary

Health and anxiety have an intimate relationship. They love to hang out together. They love to work together. Anxiety can make you feel sick. Sickness can make you feel anxious. It can be a vicious duo that can wreak havoc in your child’s life.So how are you supposed to help kids who worry about their heath or whose anxiety makes them constantly feel slick? I brought Dr. Josh Spitalnick from Anxiety Specialists of Atlanta to help shed some light on how parents can help kids who worry about their health. He offers some helpful insight and take away approaches that often seem counterintuitive but are crucial in helping our kids.To learn more about Dr. Josh Spitalnick's practice go to www.Anxietyspecialistsofatlanta.com***This podcast is for informational purposes only and should not be used to replace the guidance of a qualified professional.Visit my website at www.ATparentingSurvival.comInterested in my AT Parenting Community Membership? Well, hello there, and welcome to another episode of the AT Parenting Survival

0:15.8

Podcast. I hope you're having a great day. I hope kids went back to school and

0:20.2

everything was okay and everybody survived. It was a little touch and go at my house for a little while

My daughter's class, like half the class was out with the flu last

0:38.0

week so she was out sick today which is ironic because today we are talking about health anxiety

0:45.5

and what that is and how it shows up in our kids and she is my little one who

0:51.1

tends to have health anxiety she fears that she's going to

0:54.2

throw up and she fears she's going to get sick and so sometimes it's kind of

0:57.9

hard to say like is she sick or is she not sick. She's feeling it physically, but is it her anxiety,

1:05.0

or is she truly having some sort of virus or bug?

1:09.0

And I bet for those of you that are dealing with

1:30.7

nauseous that that's more of a mystery because her anxiety shows

1:36.8

up as nausea as I'm sure it does for many of your kids.

1:41.2
