So far, the best parts of the Jets off season, stabilizing the offensive line, and adding

leadership to the back of the defense.

Let's give out an offseason midterm progress report today on Locked On Jets.

I'm John B from gangreneation.com, and on today's show, we're going to take a look at how

the Jets off-season looks at about the halfway point.

We're through most of free agency. There still will be some signings here and there the rest of the

way. We could even get into the summer, June, July. The Jets may sign some players, but for the most part,

free agency is done. And we're looking to the NFL draft. So the offseason is not complete yet.

But we are right around the

halfway point. And when I was in school at the halfway point, we always got these things

called progress reports. It would tell us how we were doing. So that's what we're going to do for

the Jets on today's episode. We'll talk about what work remains after the free agency period.

We'll talk about some of the things I think the Jets may have gotten wrong, namely leaning into older players in their 30s. But we'll start by what they got right. And I think that there are two big things that I like about what the Jets have done so far this offseason. And the number one thing is I think that they've stabilized the offensive line.

Now, the Jets enter the off season in pretty decent shape up front on the offense.

In fact, it's one of the few spots I felt okay about at the end of last season.

In fact, it may have been the only position group where I said the Jets are in decent shape here.

And that's because they have smartly invested in the offensive line over the last

couple of years.

They drafted Joe Tipman in the second round in 2023.

In the first round in 2024, they picked Olu Fashanu.
