Summary

In Episode #53, I sat down with Torre Washington to talk about his journey, how he got into bodybuilding, and what it’s like being a plant-based bodybuilder. We intended to record this episode in the USA; however, our worlds collided a little earlier than planned, so we recorded it in Byron Bay. As well as discussing some of the places we ate during our time in Byron Bay, we dove into Torre’s childhood years, his bloodlines, and what the Rastafari culture means to him. We talked about his journey to becoming a pro bodybuilder; his diet, past and present (and yes, I asked the infamous question about protein); and coexisting with people who don’t follow plant-based diets. Quick one. My team tells me we actually have very few reviews relative to the weekly audience

0:07.4

numbers. This is no doubt my fault, as I've always felt a little weird about asking you

0:12.2

to do something for me. But clearly, if you don't ask, you don't get. So if you're enjoying

0:17.6

the show, if it's providing you value, please take 30 seconds and leave a review on Apple

or Spotify. In doing so, you'll help the show rank higher, which means we can continue

0:27.5

to attract the brightest and most trustworthy people in science. My team and I have big plans

0:32.6

for the show where we want to be in 24 months and we need your help to make this possible.

Consistency is probably one of the most important aspects when it comes to pretty much going

0:48.0

after anything. Whatever that goal maybe, let's say you want to be the best baseball player

0:53.0

in your picture. You have to consistently get out there those days that you need to train

0:58.8

and do it. So the same thing with the gym, you know, if you're wanting to increase your

1:03.8

bench, you're not going to increase your bench if you're training off and on. You've got

1:07.7

to consistently go in there, push reps, maximize that time because I think one thing people

1:12.9

do is they think they have to be in the gym three to four hours a day in order to get the

1:16.4

physique that we have and that's not necessarily true. You know, if you are in there consistently

1:21.7

with the right intensity, mind focused, you can basically accomplish anything. You know,

1:27.6

nothing's impossible but with consistency as your back, back, back. That's Tori Washington

and this is the Proof Podcast.

Howdy, plant friends. We have back together and I am absolutely pumped to share this week's

1:56.1

episode of the Plant Proof Podcast. Each week I get new guests on the show to share their

story and knowledge so that together you and I can become more conscious, inspired and mindful.

Ultimately, these are conversations that I would have even without the show. So the aim is to bring
