This is John Batchel, a conversation with my colleague Elizabeth Peake, the Hill columnists

and Fox News columnist, about the difference between the United States economy right now and

European economy, seen from the European point of view. America is a risk-taker, venture capitalists,

exploring new technologies, and whole new categories of earning money, prosperity, growth, lower electricity costs, deregulation, all of that.

Europe envies it, admires it, wants to follow in some fashion.

Here's Liz to talk about the advantages the American economy has for all the complaining

we can do.

It's the best on the planet.

Yeah, you're totally right.

Look, consumers are going into the holiday spending season.

Spending isn't huge, but it's okay, a little better than okay.

People are optimistic. And I would agree with the F.T. That, in fact, we are risk takers and look

at the tech dominance. I mean, nothing could tell you more about where the United States stands

on basically promulgating new technologies and very

promising technologies than the fact that Europe wants to clamp down on Google and, you know,

Twitter and all the, all the major technology companies that we have. There's no other SpaceX in the

world and there's no other Google in the world.

I mean, these are dominant, fantastic companies. And thank heavens we have all. And I think, by the way,

I mean, I can get super optimistic about a Trump administration that really unleashes more of this

kind of venture investing and capital accumulation, all those things.

Deregulation is incredibly important to those kinds of investors and entrepreneurs,
