This Friday, for the first time in the history of the cinephiles, John and I will be discussing

a film that neither of us had ever seen before.

Actually, they're too first because this is also the pick of the very first members of

Of course, John and I have to approve the movie, and in this case it was a no-brainer because

the film they chose was Charles Lotton's The Night of the Hunter, ranked as the number

two film ever made behind Citizen Kane by Kaya de Cinema and justly praised for its unique

story, incredible cinematography, powerful music, and brilliant performances from Lilian

Gish, Shelley Winters, and the absolutely terrifying Robert Mitchem.

The Night of the Hunter is unquestionably a classic, and one John and I were thrilled

to be able to experience for the very first time.
