the most popular children's novels ever written, Heidi, by Johanna Shbiri. We know our listeners

of what to expect from this season. Published in two parts, between 1880 and 1881, Heidi is the

most famous work by the Swiss author. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Swiss

Alps, follows the adventures of a little girl, learning to find her place in two different worlds.

Some years after becoming orphaned, Heidi is brought to live with her grandfather in a remote cabin

high in the mountains. There she learns to appreciate the beauty of nature alongside the hardships

of rural life. She meets a young goat herd and his family, helps him tend his goats and makes new friends.

One day a relative decides Heidi must go to Frankfurt to have better prospects in life and to get

an education despite her grandfather's protests. In the big city, Heidi befriends another young girl

named Clara, and while they enjoy their time together, Heidi always dreams of returning home to

the mountains and her grandfather's cabin. We hope you will join us for this season. However,
