Speaking with my colleague Gregory Coppley, who's traveling is in Australia,

about the future of Europe following the Ukraine conflict.

What does it look like?

Two armed camps facing each other across the frontier running from Romania

to Finland? Or is there conversation to restore the integral nature of Europe with the Russian energy story, rebuild the pipelines,

begin again, us Politique updated.

There are voices in Germany, I'm told repeatedly, who while not going back to the old

days certainly believe that Russia can be brought in to the community of nations again following this conflict.

However, and I ask Gregory about this and he has a vision of his own about what the future looks like.

No, I think it is possible.

It will come in a new form, but there's considerable anger in parts of the European Union and particularly in Germany

and in parts of Poland despite Donald Tusk's pro-Ukraine stand about the fact that it was the Ukrainians who almost certainly

destroyed the Nord Stream pipelines early on in the Ukraine war and that really has hurt German economic recovery.

So basically I think that there are many people within the European Union who would actively seek a repair of those pipelines

and a resumption of normal trade.

I think people have had enough in Europe of listening to demands that Russia be isolated

and the demands are coming largely from the Biden administration.
