This is John Batcher, a conversation with Victoria Coates of the Heritage Foundation about the visit of President Marcos of the Philippines, received at the Oval Office, received at the Pentagon, Commerce Department, State Department. Why?

Victoria answers it very straightforwardly. The threat, the threat from the People's Republic of China, not just Taiwan,

but the weakest of the states and the link to defend Taiwan, the Philippines. Here's Victoria,

to say bluntly that the Filipinos know. More of this later tonight. Well, they've been literally

feeling it. I mean, China's been encroaching on their airspace, on their territorial waters through a variety of means.

And so they know that they're in the crosshairs.

And I think that's one of the reasons it's so important you have engagement at the highest level from this administration.
