This is John Batchel. Conversation with my colleague Joseph Sternberg, member of the editorial board of the Wall Street Journal.

He's in London. He writes the political economics column, writing about net zero and its retracement of its advance these last years across the European map.

That's also true in the United States, and Joseph here refers to the Biden administration in these closing days,

making decisions and issuing orders that are contrary.

For example, after 2029 banning natural gas-fired electric heating for water heaters,

or prohibiting to my understanding all oil and gas leasing for drilling off the shores of the United States,

perhaps that large a scale.
