I speak to the author Daniel Clode about bushfires.

It is bushfire season in Australia.

Daniel wrote a book 10 years ago, Future in Flames.

It's more relevant now than ever because of climate change and this is an

El Nino year I learned that means drier and much hotter in Australia in the

southern hemisphere combining with the heavy rains of these last years

creating a lot of fuel underneath the eucalyptus forest, which in Australia is like

lighting a match around something soaked with gasoline.

Eucalyptus burns.

It burns fast.

So the bushfires of Australia, there are bushfires in the Mediterranean Basin, They're not they're called wildfires there. They're called wildfires in California
