The Trouble with Hobble.

Bob is the biographer of Hobble Universe and a Machine.

This has to do with gyroscopes. It is a part of the machine that cannot be

fixed. There are no more missions to Hubble to rescue it. And the gyroscopes are

troubled. It's in safe mode now and Bob explains at length why the loss of a

gyroscope or more than one leaves Hubble without a good mission and without a

good eyesight.

This is a serious problem.

It's been an ongoing serious problem now for about a year and a half,

but we have more problems.

Hubble originally had six gyroscopes that gives them redundancy for three-dimensional pointing.

The gyroscopes allow them the pointed very accurate in three dimensions,

and they gave them six so that you had a redundancy.
