Hello and welcome to this epochs. I thought this week we'll take a hiatus from the story, the narrative of the Kings and Queens of England as we've been doing that for a few months now.

And I wanted to flip over and talk about someone, something else.

And before now, somewhere I've threatened to do the turtles,

i.e. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael.

Well, I've decided that although interesting lives,

both Donatello and Raphael don't really warrant a whole epochs about them.

But what I do want to do is Leonardo and Michelangelo.

So in this episode I'm going to talk all about Leonardo of Vin-D'Vinci, and I may even do an episode, I think I really want to do an epochs, all about

the Mediichi family, the rulers of Florence on and off, sometimes rulers of Florence as a last one in a three there.

So I will be returning to the story of the Kings and Queens of England, but for this one, just a bit of a palette cleanser, if nothing else.

I'm going to take us to Renaissance Italy. I'm talk all about the life of Leonardo da Vinci.

Now, once or twice when I've been doing

epochs I have felt that the story the person is so great that I'm not worthy even to tell the story I have got a feeling I've got a feeling in my

bones doing Leonardo I felt that way about doing Wellington and Nelson nevertheless

it's a chance stop me.

But it's such a great life.

He's so famous.

Obviously famous for being a genius,

and it's undeniable.

It really is undeniable.

He's sort of, he's a genius amongst geniuses even. And not just for painting,

obviously there's the Mona Lisa, arguably the most famous painting in the world and there's the Last Supper in Milan but

...
