This is John Batchelor, speaking to my colleague Jeff Bliss about Formula One. These are the

rocket engines on wheels. F1, it's called for short, again to Las Vegas, but this time a bigger piece

in FT.com about the possibility of a disnification of F1, meaning three-year-olds will play

with cars and 70-year-olds will attend the F-1 at Las Vegas, either on television, on video,

in some fashion, watching the movies, or be there live. Quite fantastic. It started humble two years ago.

Jeff drove the course, and now the course is taking over the globe with F1 promotion, and Las Vegas

Grand Prix will be the centerpiece. It's a great idea. Here's Jeff to describe. There's much more

we're still, we've only had two under

our belt so far. And I think you have to look at it as kind of a growing pain situation and

learning as you go along. You're never going to get it all right the first time. And certainly

there were a number of different, you know, retailers and even hotels that felt they got

and you need to adapt to it. But the rest of Las Vegas has started to embrace it a bit more. Now,

there's still some people that hate the fact that the streets are blocked as they create the

so much money. It's now the biggest annual event that comes there. And they're talking about putting in a

new basically theme park or F1 district adjacent to the start area and the pits.
