This is John Batchel, a conversation with my good colleague, Gregory Copley, Defense and Foreign Affairs

about monarchy, modern monarchy, constitutional monarchy. The departure for this was the

conduct of many, many people on a sunny day on Saturday, marching to a banner or a theme called

no kings. And I puzzled with Gregory. This isn't a kingship that we're talking about, is it?

The monarchy has great success.

King of Great Britain, King of England, King of Northern Ireland, King of New Zealand, King of Australia.

And Gregory then explains that the original founders saw the Constitution as kingship

and that the partisanship of these last years is not what they envisioned, at least initially.
