This is John Batchel, colleague Anatoly Zach, who keeps the Russian space web, reports that Russia recently did a study for landing and establishing a colony on the moon, using the cis-luner method that is to put an orbiter, a space station orbiter around the moon that can be used as a way station to and from the moon

with a parked lander to and from Earth for supplies.

Here's Anatoly to describe it and saying it was originally done in anticipation of working with NASA.

Now the partnership between the PRC and the Russian Federation suggests the same study can be applied to the Chinese ambition to establish a colony on the moon soon enough.

John, so this particular study and design research is very recent.

So it's very modern and it's quite contemporary and it's still relevant to what's going on today.

Because of course, we know that the CISL lunar station is still officially on the books, even though there are a lot of rumors that NASA is going on today. Because of course, we know that the SIS lunar station is still officially on the books,

even though there are a lot of rumors that NASA is going to kill that project,

but it's still, it's still officially not closed officially yet.

But also China is formulating its lunar-related architecture as we speak.

They declared their intention to build a lunar base and

all necessary, of course, the transportation system and all the necessary infrastructure for this.

So this study which Russians were doing within the framework of cooperation with NASA,

is still relevant because it's quite recent,

it's still relevant to the studies of the architecture,

which China is doing right now.
