Look, I don't think this episode was, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

It had some jokes that I thought basically worked.

The problem, though, is that its narrative spine is just the limpest conceivable satire of, like,

the White Lotus TV show and like season one in particular.

So it's very much like an IP effort.

And I don't really think it has anything to, I don't know, say about White Lotus. I don't think it really uses the source material particularly well. I mean, the Simpsons obviously in the golden era did this kind of thing. Like there's the Simpsons parody of the Shining, which is absolutely great. I don't know. This wasn't

terrible, but I thought it was pretty mediocre. I did like to see my old friend Side Show Bob again.

I thought the episode had one joke that is particularly emblematic of where the Simpsons is these days,

even when their outings are not as bad as, you know, a lot of them seem to be.

So, Sideshow Bob reappears in this episode.

And look, basically the plot of this episode is just sort of the plot of White Lotus

season one.

They've even got an S&L comedian by the name of Chloe Rose Feynman doing a Jennifer Coolidge

impression, which it's a pretty good Jennifer Coolidge impression.

But, you know, playing that character who is married to side show Bob, who, I don't know,

may want to kill her for her money, something like that.

But when the Simpsons first encounter sideshow Bob, they basically say to him, like,

oh, you're going to kill her for her money.

He says, no, I've made my own fortune.

I invented retractable rakes so that, you know, I don't get hit in the face anymore. He immediately

drops it on the ground and steps on it, it hits him in the nuts. So I chuckled at that.

It's an obvious callback to the famous side show bob rake gag. And the thing is like, this is funny, but the only reason it's funny is because the first
