I welcome Cameron Bokari, writing a geopolitical futures where he often contributes as a senior analyst.

Dr. Bokari is the senior director of Eurasian Security and Prosperity portfolio at the New

Writing most recently about She-jin Ping and doubts that may be true may have emerged

Hello John so there are two ways of looking at it.

One is to take Gee at his word and say, okay, there's corruption that he wants to deal with.

There's actual corruption and I have no doubt that that is the case because the state capitalism and the scale at which

you know China exists as a as a as a major economy is bound to create corruption.

But there is also something called the weaponization

of corruption.

So you know there is corruption, but you use it to silence opponents,

opponents who don't like what you're doing with the Chinese regime. And by that I mean essentially transforming what was a

bureaucratized institutionalized autocracy under the the Communist Party, a collective leadership built by Mao's
