A bill identifying Tik-Toc as a threat passed a congressional committee 50 to zero moving towards a House floor vote.

50 to zero.

I speculate that the number of zeros ever in votes in Congress is extremely rare.

I don't remember seeing it any time in these last 20 years, zero.

I know for example the Declaration of War in World War I with Woodrow Wilson cheering on Congress was not a zero.

So, Josh, a very good evening to you. 50 to zero.

This is unanimity in a partisan landscape.

What is it that Tik-Dok represents

that Congress is convinced it's a threat

and must be dealt with immediately?

Well, as you point out, there's a strong bipartisan agreement that something has to be done

to exert a little bit more oversight than perhaps a little bit more control over what's quickly

becoming one of the largest social media apps that American children use.

That's Tik-Toc and the reason is twofold.

One is because the company is owned by a Chinese

conglomerate and all the data is potentially vulnerable to exploitation by the Chinese government because that's how China works because in China

if the Chinese company has your data the Chinese government can take it at any time it doesn't mean they're asking for it
