This is CBS, I am the world. I'm John Bachelor. The Chinese economy troubled. How so and where? I welcome Victoria Herkseg of the geopolitical future. She's in Budapest and she provides me a map and a series of provinces in China that are especially in trouble over something called an LG-F-V-V-S-S.

However, I'm going to read off this list because it describes geography that I'm learning in China.

This is provinces that have either stopped or about to stop their state-funded infrastructure projects

because they're deeply in debt and don't have a way out.

We're looking at Yunnan, Gansu, Jan-Jin, Chung-Ging,

Inner Mongolia, Launing, Jilin, Jilin, highly, this is a tough one, Heilin, Guejo, Ningsia, and Chinghi.

I'm describing the north of China. I'm also describing the deep south. Stopping projects

central government has a problem that these provinces at the edges of China's

development, they're not the big manufacturing centers of the coastline and they're certainly not Beijing or

Wu Han, the labs and the technology. They are the outliers. They're in trouble. How do they get in trouble?

And what does the Chinese Communist Party plan to do about it? Good evening to you.

all these provinces are well located everywhere in China except for the

coastal region so it's it's the central region which is always described as the poorest region of China.

Also the northern regions that don't get as much trade as the coastal provinces and it's important to mention here that some of these

provinces have high percentages of minorities living there and we know that China's treatment of the minorities is not ideal.

So yes, these several provinces are all in big trouble.

That's their main issue.

And that's been a problem for several years now, but it's gotten to the point that it's almost impossible to resolve.
