The first step in part says that we admitted that we were powerless over alcohol.

So before the program for me, I often felt powerless over my own life,

even though I didn't see it as powerlessness.

I felt inadequate, actually, because I used to know

the answer to everyone else's life. I knew exactly what other people should do.

And then when it came to my own life, I really struggled with the correct answer because I thought the correct answer was getting everyone else around me to do what it was that I wanted so that my life would work better and it didn't and when I couldn't make other people do what I wanted to do I felt not powerless I felt inadequate I thought I had the power I just wasn't tapping into it properly. I wasn't doing it the right way.
