president of the United States and 2016 when he was a candidate for the

presidency. Sydney is the author of the political life of Abraham Lincoln.

In your explication of Mr. Trump's campaign strategy and tactics these days,

you mentioned an anecdote I did not know of. Apparently Mr. Trump is confusing

Willie Brown with Jerry Brown and a helicopter. Please tell the story. Good evening

Donald Trump told a story about Willie Brown, the former Speaker of the California Assembly.

His connection to current politics is that many decades ago,

he once dated the young Kamala Harris and this led Donald Trump to

describe what he recalled, he said, of being in a near-death experience in a

helicopter with Willie Brown in California and that the helicopter was diving to Earth but the last minute

they were saved.

And then he said he has had a discussion with Willie Brown saying about Kamla Harris who was then quite

young and according to Trump, Willie Brown said, quote, terrible things about her. And he's not a fan.
