This is CBS, I'm John Batsuch, with Victor Davis Hanson of the Hoover Institution, who's

done me the favor of getting ready to comment about a story that's breaking news all around

us. In the middle of the day, this wasn't even in summaries. As you could imagine, the

night before, which is how the world works, the wire services in Europe have the American

story, but not this. Wall Street Journal headlight, Hunter Biden plead deal in jeopardy.

In court hearing, prosecutors say investigation into President Sun remains open. It's

a long and tormented tale, but it comes down to this. There's testimony routinely now

in the Congress House of Representatives investigating committee several of them. Of irregularities

in the story of Hunter Biden and Ukraine, Berisma, Hunter Biden and China, people's Republic

of China, including figures associated with state security. And the president himself,

when he was vice president and afterwards, these stories are complex and I'm not trying

to summarize them. I'm just looking for Victor's comments about where we are, because what

we have right now are allegations that are astonishing, given the conflict that is potential

in the Pacific and given the conflict that's underway in Europe. Victor, what to make of

the fact that these items are not front and center of concern in a reelection campaign for

the president? Well, I think the me have felt that because in the 2020 election, Joe Biden

escondes himself in his basement and didn't conduct a campaign at all. So speak and they

protected him, that that would work forever. And the problem they're having is that the

facts are now coming out, given the Republican Congress that they didn't anticipate. And it's

not sustainable. What can't go on won't go on. So you can't have the son of the president

selling paintings, for example, and getting collective payments, 800,000, and then the

payer who is supposed to be anonymous, being known and getting perks and visiting the White
