founder of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy's, writing most recently in his column at the

Washington Times of General McMaster, HR McMaster, now out of service for the U.S. Army retired, but at the same time in the mix because he not only is at the

Hoover Institution he contributes to the foundation to the defense of democracy and to the intellectual argument about

what does a National Security Advisor do and how does a National Security

Advisor get through the day with the Secretary of State

here, with the Secretary of Treasury there, with the Department of Defense across

the river, and with the president moving back and forth. What does a national

security advisor do? In preparation for writing

his new book I learned from Cliff. General McMaster studied Linden Johnson, a man who is very prominent in his previous book,

Dereliction of Duty, which is about Vietnam.

What did General Nickmaster, HR McMaster, learned from studying Lyndon Johnson and learned from

his reflections on the Vietnam War. He's not young enough to have been a general

during the Vietnam old enough to be a general in the Vietnam War,

what does he learn from those events and that person that helped him write the new book about

Well, one important part of it

that he also saw in President Trump, a certain insecurity, a certain

need to be flattered, various things.
