We are citizens of North America, the three states, Canada, the United States and Mexico.

I welcome Elaine Desenski, Senior Director, Head of the Center on Economic

and Financial Power at the Foundation for Defensive democracies. She served as a deputy and

acting assistant secretary for policy at the US Department of Homeland Security and we're going to that policy security, but we're also talking about prosperity.

Elaine, your essay is charming because it's encouraging

that we have a new moment in the relationship between Mexico City and Washington and Ottawa, a new president. Her name is

Claudia Scheinbaum. Previously she served as mayor of Mexico and one of her

ambitions she has said in her overwhelming victory is to provide for clean drinking water for the Mexican people.

There is a turn of the page, however, your essay, I read, is also identifying that Chloe Shainbaum and

the new president in January for us and the new prime minister for Ottawa next year I believe is the next election

scheduled for Canada. Have a opportunity to take advantage of our two oceans,

our continent, and our people.

Yes, there are some challenges at the moment, but what I wanted to do with this essay was really talk about the incredible opportunity that we have.
