The biggest primary day of 2018 has produced somewhat more clarity about the issues that will be important come the November general election.

Will it be a referendum on President Trump? We'll get back to that in a moment and other issues as well.

but despite claims of great excitement, the turnout was lousy, 21% of eligible voters.

Democrats operated and they gave the Republicans an opportunity with the top two election system in

California. It was possible there were so many Democratic candidates that they

might cancel each other out and leave only Republicans on the ballot. Yeah, well, I said that that

wouldn't happen, and it didn't happen. I think there was a lot of hysteria around that.

One is for understandable reasons because hypothetically it could, but two is for reasons that I think are part of the group think of media, which is, hey, you

don't want all these upstart Democrats in these races.

Just make sure you bow your head and vote for Feinstein and just eat your broccoli

and move on with your life.

So we told you guys not to do these kind of crazy primaries.

Just let the incumbents win.

Well, it turns out, no, they went fine.

Yeah, the voter turnout was disastrous, and I'm very disappointed in that.

But there's Democrats in all the races, and a lot of the races have two Democrats.

So the hysteria over-j general primary was not warranted.
