Hello, there I'm Chuck Todd. I just got off the meat press set here on Sunday where wrapped

up some exclusive interviews with Senators Amy Klobuchar, Democrat Minnesota, Mike Braun,

Republican Indiana, also spoke with the head of the NIH, Dr. Francis Collins, get the latest

on Omicron. I'm sitting here now with the Washington Post White House bureau chief, Ashley

Parker. And we're going to talk a little bit about the show that just wrapped up what we've

learned from today, how we ended up with the guests that we had on our show. So as you guys

pointed out on the round table, very light show. Yeah, yeah. Just light breezy, perfect

holiday. Just exactly guns abortion, gun's abortion, COVID being at least controversial

part of the show. I know. These days. You know, there was a, we actually thought about

doing the entire show on abortion. And the meaning, you know, we could have sliced it up a

whole bunch of ways. And it's obviously there's a lot of concern about Omicron. There's

other issues and this is a tyranny sometimes. But it feels that consequential. And I know

what was interesting to me was there's no one quote that sticks out with the interview

with Senator Braun, but it was the tone and tenor of his answers that tell me this is

something Republicans are like, we caught the car now. What?

That's exactly right. And we talked about it a little on the show, but I think where you

saw Senator Braun not wanting to go and where we're going to see over the next weeks and

months, almost no Republicans wanting to go is the question of, okay, it gets kicked

back maybe to the States. And now what? Where, where for instance, do you draw the line?

Is it a feudal viability of 24 weeks? Is it at 15 weeks as they say in Mississippi? Is

it at six weeks as they say in Texas, right? You the politician, where do you put it? Same

with what do you do with the abortion pill? What do you do with cases of rape? I mean, abortion
