Hello there, I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast.

So Georgia, Georgia, Georgia.

That's what we're going to be saying over and over for the next year, perhaps the next

decade.

Certainly in 2022 though, it is going to be the central theater, the central theater for

virtually every political story out there.

Let's check off all the races that are going to take place in the Peach State of 2022,

former Republican Senator David Perdue.

Now challenging the sitting incumbent governor Brian Kemp and a Republican primary, winner

that race, will likely go on to face Stacey Abrams in the general election.

If it's Kemp, it's a rematch, if not, you know, it's Perdue Abrams.

And because of the state's rules, there is a good chance that that primary could go into

a runoff and the general could end up in a runoff if it's close enough.

State will also see a contested Senate race as incumbent Democratic Senator Rafael Warnock

runs for reelection.

Right now there are about a dozen potential Republican challengers, but with former President

Trump throwing a support behind one time, Heisman Trophy winner and Georgia Bulldog

Virtual Walker, he is obviously the heavy favorite.

So if you're keeping score at home, yes, that race will probably go to a runoff as well.

So once that's all over, Georgia will become one of the most important contested states

of the 2024 presidential election.
