Congressman Dan Bishop, he was one of the 20 holdouts when it came to denying Kevin McCarty,

the speakership over a dozen or so ballots.

And the new Democratic leader in the House, I came Jeffries. I'm sitting here now with

Yes.

First week, this sort of went exactly how we all thought it might go. Now, specifically

no, but we all kind of thought anything involving Kevin McCarty and leadership was going to

be chaotic.

It's sort of been a moment that has been years in the making.

The Republican Party has been warring for a well over a decade now about how far left,

how far right do they want to go? Do they want to be more centrist? And we really saw

the start to brew under Speaker John Bainer's reign when the Freedom Caucus started to come

together and threaten to ask him a speaker and he ended up leaving town for that happened,

retiring.

Same thing happened with Paul Ryan and his speakership. And I think Trump coming in to the White House

really sort of paper to over that tension for a long time and united the party or at least

they were also afraid of Trump that they didn't want to do certain things.
