Today's 10-minute walk is helping you stay fitness consistent, so let's go for a walk.

I've been doing Walking as Fitness now since the end of August 2018.

It was not called Walking As Fitness then, and it was not this podcast.

It started as a weekly blog.

And one of the things that I said from the very beginning, that I said then, that I continue to say, as a recommendation,

It's almost a mantra, if you will. A fitness mantra. Start small, think long.

In other words, fitness is hard, really, really hard.

Oftentimes, we're excited about the transformation that comes with beginning a new fitness journey.

And we want that transformation to happen as quickly as possible.

And that transformation could be losing weight.

It could be, I just want to be able to do more stuff with the people I love.

And they're out doing things and I don't have the fitness capacity. We probably aren't using those words, but I don't have the fitness capacity we probably aren't using those words but

don't have the fitness capacity to join them to hang with them to do the things that they enjoy

doing and I don't like that I want to change that it could be some bad news you got with a recent doctor's visit, a medical trajectory that is changeable.

One of the most common that I have heard about is diabetes, type 2 diabetes.

Doctor is saying you're pre-diabetic.

Got to get these numbers down.

Got to make some changes here and what you eat, how much you move. Got to move more, sit less.

And so we don't want that health outcome, so we want to change things.

And maybe there's not as much excitement in that journey.
