Let's start with the president. The United States is flying to Las Vegas this afternoon,

Dasher, to do an event there to talk about his no tax on tips policy, a very popular policy when you poll it and when you look

at people taking it up and the White House understandably keen to emphasize it this week,

given its tax week, but as we've been saying on the podcast this week, these messages are

not landing entirely well because there's so much other noise around and I suspect that's going to be the problem he faces again today.

Yeah, I mean, I think the messages are just having a hard time landing period because they're not consistent and there is a lot of distraction from that message.

And I am hearing a whole lot of frustration from Republican allies of the president

who are also trying to get Republicans elected in the midterms, just extremely concerned right

now that, you know, given historical trends, there was already kind of the baked in worry about

the house going blue. And now increasingly,

they're worried about the Senate and those concerns stem in part from the inability to keep

the president focused on the message that they need to be focused on in order to win,

which is, I mean, I've heard Republicans repeat this truism to me if it's the economy, stupid, right?
