Kamisaki, hey there, creature catchers and welcome back to the creature feature.

You already know that the world is jam-packed with awesome stories, but did you know, it's also full of amazing, totally unbelievable creatures.

We have set off on a massive adventure across the entire world,

kicking things off deep in South America to introduce you to the strangest,

goofiest and occasionally scary magical monsters.

We'll discover their secret hangouts what makes their appearance so unusual and the incredible legends about them.

You heard me say Kamisaki. That means how are you? In the Aymara language. The

Aymara people live in Bolivia, a country in South America famous for being so high up in the mountains that your ears might

pop.

And that is exactly where we find today's featured creature.

Imagine walking through a bustling, colourful market high up in the Andes Mountains.

You see a small, cheerful figure moving

slowly through the crowds. It's carrying a huge, overflowing backpack strapped to its back. The pack is piled

high with miniature bags of food, tiny money, small musical instruments and tiny houses.

It has a big wide grin on its face.

It pauses to set down its heavy burden, which means a huge heavy load,

waiting for someone to offer it a tiny gift to ensure a year of good luck. A merchant smiles and comes closer,

holding out a tiny banknote. Before she can hand it over, the little figure sneezes a massive

booming, that shakes the entire stall, sending miniature items flying into the air.

This cheerful little spirit is the Ekeko.

The Ekerko is a mythical figure often seen as a small pot-bellied man with a big smile.

He wears traditional clothing and is weighed down by an overflowing sack filled with tiny copies of money and lucky things. He is a spirit of abundance. Abundance means having a huge amount of something.
