is of course PMQ's unpacked. Patrick McGuire joining me this week to pause the action

live from the House of Commerce to analyse in real time. What went on between Boris Johnson

and Kirstom? First though, as ever, we kick off with our columnist panel and on a Wednesday,

it is Alibat, that's Alice Thompson and Robert Cramson.

So, let's start first of all obviously with you creating Russia. Daniel Finkstoy is a terrific

column this week, but do I think it's terrific, Robert, because it makes me feel slightly

better? Yes, he's nothing if not optimistic, the Baron.

He's saying that this is a kind of comeback for a liberal democracy, which had been thought

to be kind of decadent and past it, both by people on the left and people on the right

and the extent of the opposition to what Putin's doing and the unity is a good sign that

we're sort of more united than divides us. I mean, he's also making the point in 1956

when the Russians did the same thing in Hungary, the West did nothing and because we're doing

slightly more than nothing this time and diplomatically and in terms of a certain amount of aid,

then that represents progress and nobody thinks that it will be 35 years before Ukraine

is liberated as it was with Hungary. I mean, that Danny is looking on the bright side. I have

to say that to be able to say that this invasion represents some sort of comeback for liberal

democracy is a stretch, but at least he's trying. It seems as if his point was more about

us, unless about them, that what this invasion has done is made the West start to remember

...
