Welcome to One Minute Scripter Study, a Come Follow Me podcast. We are your host, Kristen Walker Smith and Callie Black.

0:09.0

Hey, it's Callie Black here with today's thought. Let's open up to Genesis chapter 2, verse 3.

0:16.0

This was it. Everything had been set in place. The creation creation was complete and the plan was ready to move

0:22.6

forward in the account of the seventh day we learn in genesis chapter two verse three and god blessed

0:29.3

the seventh day and sanctified it because that in it he had rested from all his work which god created and made. Did you catch that? God made a

0:41.0

predetermined plan to have a day of rest at the end. This was not a situation where he worked really

0:48.3

quickly and had some extra time to rest. It had been planned all along to leave a period of rest during which he stopped his creation work before the other aspects of the plan moved forward.

1:01.4

He sanctified this day of rest and made it holy.

1:04.9

This really is an eternal principle modeled by God.

1:09.7

We need to plan to stop our work and rest.

1:14.4

And that rest can become truly sanctifying when we focus on God's goodness.

1:21.7

So the takeaway of the day in five words or less, plan for rest.

1:27.3
