Once upon a time, U.S. steel was the United States of America, the prosperity that we take

for granted today was built by Pittsburgh.

That is not an exaggeration, but we come to the end of all things.

The U.S. steel company is for sale.

Is that a bad thing, Selena, because there are jobs left in the Pittsburgh area?

They're not leaving, are they?

We actually don't know that.

You know, the writing on the wall for U.S. steel and I wrote about this in 2018 or 2019

and you and I discussed it on the air, writing on the wall for the end of U.S. steel began

to slowly unravel when the local Democrat officials, Somerville, who's now a member of

Congress, opposed the $1 billion reef configuration of the U.S. steel plants in Braddock and Clareton,

they were going to invest nearly over $1 billion, almost $2 billion in making them climate

appropriate and they opposed it and U.S. steel said, okay, we're going to Arkansas.

They basically left the first steel plant built by Andrew Carnegie, the first steel plant

in Braddock left to just dwindle away and that is what this is coming to in this state.

The regulations within the county where the U.S. steel plants still sit in Clareton and

Braddock and Irvin are all being sort of shunned by local elected officials and you know,

there are other places that are saying, we'll take it in particular companies that have

plants in the south who want to build plants in the south and the fear is that there won't

be steel workers left in the city in the next couple of years.
