The news that has been dominating coverage for the past couple of days is frightening, but we're

going to overcome. We're going to persevere. We're going to rise above it. We're going to talk about

what's been happening in Southern California the past year and some of the big stories that we

expect to unfold over the year ahead. I'm Phil Schumann from Fox 11 News. I've been covering the news

in Southern California since 1983. Can you believe that? And if I was working today, I would no

doubt be out in Fullerton. This is what Deborah Mark was talking about.

As a small plane, a plane has crashed into a building near the Fullerton Airport.

I don't know details, don't know whether it was on takeoff or landing, but we do know there

was a small airport in Fullerton, very close to that crime scene.

I actually used to have my private pilot's

license, but I gave it up because I just didn't feel confident enough, occasionally flying around

Southern California, especially when I'd cover stories like that. They'd always say, you know,

that Clem, he was the safest pilot I ever knew, never had a problem in 50 years of flying. And then there's a,

you know, charred wreckage on the pavement. I'm thinking, well, that could happen to Clem.

It happened to me. All right. Valley-Current.com and Westsidecurrent.com websites that are doing a great job.

And I guess what we would call it is hyper local coverage.
