let's join Scott Pauli. The words, I love you, should carry tremendous meaning, but all too

often, they are said lightly and flippantly with little thought of what that love means and what

it requires. We know from our study of scripture that there are varying kinds of love. There is

erotic love that is sensual and relates to the physical only. That's the shallowest kind of love

there is. There's the love of family. There is the love

of friendship. There is ultimately the great love, and that is the love of our God. And only one of those

loves is perfect, and that is the love of the Heavenly Father. We return today in our study of

1 John to these great truths that we come to know.

And as we come to know the truth, we come to know God.

And as we come to know the truth, we come to know even more deeply that we belong to the Lord.

And that that ought to make a real difference in our lives.

Now, I'm about to read to you a few verses that as I read them, you're going to recognize

the theme because we've come to it over and over and over again in our journey through

1 John, and that is the perfect love of God.

1 John chapter 4, beginning in verse 16 16 down through the end of the chapter says

and we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love. And he that dwelleth in love,

dwelleth in God and God in Him. Herein is our love made perfect that we may have boldness in the day of judgment because,
