Can a person really know for sure that they have eternal life? Is it arrogant for a person to presume that he or she will go to heaven when they die?

September 2nd, 1945, became known as the day, the as in victory. It was the day that victory was declared over Japan in World War II.

And historically, a day that stands out because there was such jubilation, such celebration

on that particular day. Do you know the child of God needs a V-Day, and he doesn't just need one of them?

He needs every day to be a victory day. That's why the book of First John is given to us.

You see, it's a book of assurance for a world of adversity. We are living in an age of spiritual

warfare. We have an enemy, but praise God, in the midst of the conflict,

there is victory. If you've ever seen that iconic image of Churchill making the V for

victory sign, that same symbol now means peace, I think there's a beautiful object lesson there for us because Jesus Christ is

the victor, not some man. No, dear one, Christ alone purchased, paid for the victory at Calvary,

proved it when he came out of the grave alive forevermore, and if you can learn to live in his victory, then you can have his peace.

We've come today to 1 John chapter 5 in the opening verses to overcoming faith,

victorious faith.

And if you're keeping track of the list of all of these beautiful signs that we belong to the Lord. This is number 20.

As we've walked through 1 John, let's read the opening six verses. Whosoever, now that's a

beautiful word. What a great word to start with. Whosoever will may come. Whosoever shall call

upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
