Hi, my name is Jessica Martin and I'm a Shera Weiss.

This week we'll be hosting Radiohead Space.

Just to share a little bit about us for both artists and art teachers based in Healdsburg

California.

Together we created Pepp Talk, a project all about getting Pepp Talks from students at

Westside Elementary.

We even have a hotline you can call and hear something like this.

When you're feeling mad you should take three deep breaths and think of things to make

you happy.

Within two days we were getting 500 calls an hour.

Within a week we were getting 60,000 calls an hour.

And over the course of the last month we've received five million calls.

If you're feeling up high and unbalanced, think of groundhogs.

Today we're going to talk about why we started Pepp Talk, the power of a child's perspective

on life and how art can help us through tough times.

Jessica and I created Pepp Talk as a two-part project where students got to think about

what they wanted to say to the general public or what maybe they would want to hear if they

were going through a hard time.

And they came up with all these posters that some of them had little rip tabs that say

take a little hope like a tab that would have a number on it for a lost cat or something

like that.
