Martin and today I'm going to talk about how adults can use creativity as a form of self-care.

I believe all adults need more creativity in their lives.

As we get older and we get stuck into patterns and work and all the responsibilities of being

adults we lose sight of the joy of life and we lose access to the easefulness that young

people have to move through the world.

So creativity can give us an inlet to reconnect with those things.

I created a class for adults called creativity as self-care.

One thing I hear a lot is that, oh I used to draw or I used to do ceramics when I was in

high school and now I'm too busy, I don't have time for it.

And so what I am wanting to do is support adults to get back to that creative place.

The way that I like to do that is through a lot of process-oriented creativity.

Something that doesn't have an outcome that we're looking for specifically but actually enjoying

the process.

For me, process-oriented creativity is a type of mindfulness practice and when I'm feeling

in my head or stressed out then I know that going into a space of mindfulness with creativity

is going to help me focus, it's going to help me be present with what I'm doing.
