Summary

In Luke 18, we are introduced to a widow, a pharisee, a tax collector, a group of children, a young, rich ruler, and a blind beggar. While these varied persons have little in common, we find in all of them lessons on prayer, faith, and persisting in our pursuit of Jesus.

but this is a different perspective. I'd like to take a look at Luke chapter 18 in context of itself and kind of treat it like we're going to meet some new people.

1:00.0

So that's the thing. People to meet, lessons to learn in each one of the people groups.

1:04.0

And so I'd like to try to take Luke 18 in a little faster, more hard-hitting kind of pace as we've covered many of these

1:12.5

already in previous gospels, but we can pull out kind of the differences and what have you.

1:17.3

So there's a lot of people we're going to meet here.

1:18.7

We're going to meet a poor widow.

1:20.0

We're going to meet an unjust judge.

1:22.1

We're going to meet a Pharisee and, you know, some children, a penitent sinner, a rich young ruler, a poor blind man.

1:32.2

We're going to see all these characters in the stories that we're about to read.

1:36.0

The first story is about prayer, and we start in verse one.

1:40.7

And he spake a parable unto them to this end that men ought always to pray and not to faint.

1:48.5

Verse one is the main point of the parable.

1:50.8

You say, well, why do we even need to hear a parable then?
