Summary

"Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace. ~ Dalai Lama.   There's a lot going on in the world today that is cause for stress. In fact, you may wonder if you'll ever feel at peace in the world again. In this week's series, you'll discover ways to feel at peace in the world regardless of what's going on around you. As the end of the year approaches and with Christmas celebrated this week, tensions can run high as we maneuver around cherished traditions that now require social distancing from loved ones.  This week is also a week to discover how not to take things so personally and how to roll with the punches a little more.   This is part 3 of a 7-part Peace On Earth meditation series, episodes 2187-2193.   THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE: You're invited to take part in a Peace Quest. Every day this week, focus on not taking things so personally. To do this, try not to focus on "I" statements. If you are stressed about the insensitive way someone spoke to you, for example, instead of thinking, "I can't believe she said that! Instead, try reframing your thoughts to a more objective stance such as, "She must be stressed. She probably didn't mean to say that to me." You'll be surprised by how much peace on earth de-personalizing things can bring to you!   THIS WEEK'S MEDITATION TECHNIQUES:   Day 1:   Peace Visualization Day 2:  Affirmation "Peace is all around me." Day 3:  Inhale Visualizing Peace, Exhale Sending Out Peace Day 4:  Dyan Mudra technique Day 5:  Fourth Chakra Focus Day 6:  Layer the week's techniques together Day 7:  Weekly Reflection Meditation   LET'S SUPPORT EACH OTHER - WANT TO SHARE YOUR MEDITATION  RITUAL WITH YOUR FELLOW MEDITATORS?    Let's connect and inspire each other! We're exploring this week. It's all about peace on earth. And you've had a challenge this week.

0:22.6

Your challenge is to not take things so personally this week.

0:29.6

And this is important because it contributes to peace.

0:35.6

Peace between loved ones, between neighbors, even between nations. When you don't take

0:42.8

things so personally, you're able to stay focused on what matters most. In yoga and meditation,

0:51.0

this is referred to as releasing your ego and letting go of feeling

0:58.0

as though you need to defend yourself.

1:00.6

So it's letting go of pride.

1:03.9

And this is a way for you to experience more peace, especially if you're getting together with people for the holidays, whether

1:14.4

it's on Zoom or whether you're able to meet with people in person and safely be together.

1:22.6

Many of you are celebrating Christmas this week including myself and you are also getting

1:30.5

ready to ring in the new year so emotions are often high at this time of year and

1:36.5

feelings are easily bruised so think about what you can do to stay focused on how you want to celebrate this holiday season.

1:50.4

I'm going to be sharing a special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meditation with you.

1:58.2

And I also want to provide you with a recipe for inner peace. If you are like so many

2:06.7

people who will be isolated this Christmas, maybe celebrating it alone by yourself, because you can't

2:14.9

get to loved ones because of quarantining or because you're not safely able to meet with loved ones.

2:23.3

So I want to share with you now how you can give yourself a self-reflective retreat.

2:32.3

This is a way that many people I know prefer to

2:37.6

celebrate any holiday not with festivities with other people but rather they

2:44.7

celebrate in a reflective way by themselves you may find that you actually prefer celebrating this way.
