What's up everybody? Welcome into the next Pat's podcast. I'm Phil Perry, loaded episode for you this week because we're talking about our takeaways from Patriots mini camp.

We've got five big ones for you. We're talking about everybody from Drake May to

A.J. Brown to Braden Swinson. Braden Swinson. Yes, Braden Swinson. Eli Raridon as well. We're going

to hear from a variety of members of the Patriots coaching staff to give us a little bit more

insight as to what happened during this week of critical spring work and what we can expect moving forward when we get to training camp for New England.

So we have five takeaways. We're going to start with Drake May. Let's launch into it right now.

Takeaway number one. Drake May looks like a quarterback who is set to take a year three leap.

You could call it a year two leap if you'd like.

It's his second year in this Josh McDaniels offense, but having watched him now for three

mini-camp practices, a few OTA practices, this is a quarterback who looks dialed to me.

And if you were tracking online and you're reading our stuff and you're watching us on

early edition or BST, you're listening to Patriots Talk podcast, you might know the numbers

from day three of mini camp practice, which was the most intense of any of the spring practices

that we saw just in terms of the competitiveness level

and the jawing back and forth between offensive players, defensive players, offensive coaches, defensive coaches.

He only completed about 50% of his passes, so you might be sitting there saying, dialed, really?

One out of every two are finding receivers hands you had to watch it because these were

red zone heavy practice periods on day three so that's one bit of context that is critical right

because you're working with tighter spaces. Your past catchers don't

have as much room to operate and to separate. So you have to be really fine in there. And the number

that I would point to when it comes to, you know, Drake May's effectiveness and a practice like that

would be zero. As in zero picks. We actually didn't see Drake May throw an interception since the first OTA practice that we
