And this was way before IFS came about or any of the concepts we've been talking about.

and alongside our verbal system there are many other mental units that each have their own memories, their own values, and their

own emotions, and are expressed through a number of systems.

What he means is nonverbal rather than verbal. What makes this process so eerie

is that these systems are often not in touch with each other, but have their own existence entirely outside of language or the control of logic.

In other words, we have a second, at least a second, if not multiple internal systems that are running on their own and they're impervious to our, they don't speak in language.

The emotional mind doesn't have the language facilities anyway that it can even understand what we're trying to accomplish

we're in a very singular part of the mind that is not very compassionate nor logical itself.
