My name is Brandon Galey and welcome to episode 108 of The Blog Millionaire.

This is the third installment of a three-part series on how to update

old post and get traffic increases up to 2,000%. In part one, I taught you a simple process I use

to identify the blog posts that have the greatest upside for doing an update on. After going through the process with my blog, I am left with a list of post URLs that have

received significant traffic in the past 30 days and rank between number 4 and number 20 in Google

for the primary keyword phrase.

In part 2, I explain how to identify what your post needs to add to make

a big jump in the Google rankings. And in part three, I am going to revisit the toenel infection

example from part two and walk you through how to execute the changes we found that needed to be made.

So let's continue where we left off with our toenail infection post

and give you a detailed example of how to apply the perfect update to an old post.

Our hypothetical post on toenail infection had a word count of 150.

For the phrase toenail infection, the average word count of the top 10 results was 900 words.

While our post is above the average word count, I wanted to have 50% to 100% more words than the average word count of the first 10 results.

That means I will be increasing my post to a total of 1,350 to 1,800 words.

The current title of this blog post was, toenail infection causes and treatment options.

From the analysis of the keyword distribution in the Google result titles of the first 20

results, we were able to identify the subtopics that needed to be written in detail about

and should be included in the blog post title.
