In the last episode, I went over a strategic way to identify which past blog post stand to benefit the most from a content update.

You were to go into Google Analytics and identify the posts that drive the top 40% of your traffic.

After that, you would eliminate any posts that ranked in the top three spots in Google

Now it's time to go through my process for evaluating what your post needs to add to move up the

My process focuses on a deep analysis of the blog posts that are ranking on the first and second page of Google results for the primary keyword phrase.

The first step is to look at the word count.

I start by logging the number of words that are in the blog post that I'm currently evaluating.

After that, I go on over to SEM Rush's content template tool and type in the primary keyword

The tool will come back with the average number of words that the top 10 Google results
