At any rate, my guest today is Cameron Schmitz.

Cameron describes her early exposure to the art world through her mother, who's also a painter.

Cameron discovered the joy and satisfaction of observing and responding to the visual world,

and it has since become her passion.

Cameron was fortunate to visit several artist studios, both as a child

with her mother and sister and later on as an undergrad and grad student, witnessing professional

artists in their own spaces, and listening to the various

ways they support themselves and make sure that they have the means to create, reinforced her

concept that making art is a viable career choice.

So Karen has a brilliant balance.

It's what I call her trifecta.

She is devoted to her own painting practice. She runs an art gallery and she teaches art.
